I envision Mr. Lincoln, with a steadfast gaze, observing the ongoing work on the grand Capitol dome during his significant term as our 16th president. Some folks pressured him to halt the dome's completion due to the ever-growing need for funding, driven by the challenges of the ongoing Civil War efforts. However, Lincoln wouldn’t hear of it. He firmly believed that the nation needed to witness the work continue, to see the country grow as a unified entity, and to finish this monumental project in complete splendor and great strength. The dome's completion would symbolize our country's resolve to persevere and get the job done on all fronts.
